Shemaria is a graduate of Rutgers University - The State University of New Jersey. Shemaria pursued her Masters of Science from Mercer University in Clinical Mental Health, and was honored with the Chi Sig Iota Award for academic excellence. Shemaria is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a passion for working with adolescents, and young adults. Shemaria’ s zeal for counseling and helping others started as a youth when she would volunteer to help foster kids and mentorship programs in New Jersey. Shemaria provides Family therapy, group therapy and individual counseling sessions while exploring the use of CBT, DBT, and person centered therapeutic approaches. Shemaria has experience with substance abuse counseling and has led many substance abuse youth groups. Shemaria is a humanitarian as well and loves to travel internationally, do mission work, and volunteering locally.
